"Breaking Amish" huge hit for TLC

Congrats to Eric Evangelista and Hot Snakes Media for TLC's massive hit.  We're proud to have been a part of it.  From The Hollywood Reporter:

Breaking Amish is only two episodes into its 10-episode run. The first two episodes, which have aired Sept. 9 and Sept. 16, have averaged just shy of 3 million viewers. That makes it the most-watched series premiere in three years -- a much stronger performer than fellow freshman Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

From the wires:
The film, which has screened at dozens of film festivals worldwide, now has the blessing of Parton who had nothing to do with its planning or production.

But after she saw the film, her management worked out a deal with the twins that allows them to use 15 of her songs in the film including such classics as I Will Always Love You, Jolene and Coat of Many Colors and two previously unreleased Parton tunes Celebrate the Dreamer in You and Sky is Not the Limit.

The deal for the music was finalized today. Details were not disclosed but part of the arrangement calls for 10 percent of each DVD/BluRay disc sold to benefit the Imagination Library, Parton’s literacy foundation.

Directed by John Lavin, the film chronicles the cross-country trip in a rented RV they name Jolene. The Lanes and Gary’s boyfriend Mike Bowen embark on a road trip that is also a journey of self-discovery. Also appearing early parts of the film are Oscar winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, actress Beth Grant and actors Chad Allen and Leslie Jordan.
